Cragstan was a marketing and distribution firm from New York and imported post-war Japanese battery-operated and mechanical toys.
The company's main focus was on toys with multiple -mechanical- actions, for example robots, and made sure the company name and logo appeared on their packaging in which they were sold. These boxes were highly decorated.

It is assumed that the company's name was derived from a combination of the owners' names. Cragstan continued to operate through the mid -1960s.
Toys from Cragstan have more quality and are more detailed than other battery-operated toys. The fine quality, litography, boxes and the more complex actions, helped set Cragstan apart from other companies.
