Schoenner was founded by Jean Schoenner in 1875 and around 1895 he had around 250 employees. The company was mainly producing magic lanterns and other optical toys, and until 1906 also model steam engines. In 1912 Josef Falk took over the Schoenner company. Falk continued the manufacturing of Schoenner steam engines, so the same models where produced by both Falk and Schoenner with some (small) variations.
